What I have learned from this class is that 1. technology isn't scary. So many times we go into a new technology class being a little freaked out about what we are going to have to do. This class has shown me that I do have the tools to be sucessful with technology. Yes, I realize that this is just the beginning phase but what a great foundation that I can now build on.
I am really hoping that the district will open this up for teachers to use for classroom purposes. I guess time will only tell. I would use this as a board to let the students know about up coming jobs, explorer posts, websites that they can go to for additional practice for the ACT actually the uses are endless.

10 picture tour of East High School
Here a great view of the Career Center or what I like to call "home"
This is the garden near the cafeteria. It is incredible!
This is the cafeteria where students hang out in the mornings.
Also, a picture of one of the fabulous teachers at East.
Front of East High School. This was added in 2000
Display case under stairs. We proudly display historical artifacts about East and Bellevue.
Wall of Fame. Students that have won at state or have been honored.
One of the best traditions at East is the "B" on the floor.
To this day I don't dare step on the "B"

clasroom expectations
My classroom expectations are a little different since I don't have a traditional classroom. As all classrooms I have expectations that students know that they need to uphold. The biggest expecatation that I have is that the students see the opportunity that they have in front of them. To learn more about what they might want to do and possibly rule it out or now what it will take to reach thier goal. I also have an expectation that they be respectful to their peers and to the adults that are in the room.
A great year
The seniors last day is quickly coming upon us at East. They are a great group of students and they will be truly missed. They have so many talents and gifts that I can't wait to see what they do with the gifts.

All about me
My name is Patty Campbell and I work at East High School. I have been teaching for 15 years the last 11 at East. I started my career as a 7th grade special education teacher in Plattsmouth. I was there for four years and then made the move to East. I was a behavior disorder teacher for the first 9 years at East. I had an incredible opportunity to move into the career center. I received my Bacherlors degree from UNK, I then got my Masters in Learning Disabilities and Resource teaching from UNO I finished with my administartion degree from Doane.
My experience with technology has grown tremendously since being in the career center. I am a PC user. I use various technology in my classroom sadly many times it is a guess if it is going to work on that particular day.
My goal for this class is to 1. become more comfortable with blogging and 2. to be more proficient with it.
